Haven, the new couple RPG from the developers of Furi gets first gameplay trailer

As far as genre classification, this one might be a new one. Furi developer The Game Bakers made it known that they’re making an RPG themed around a couple on a derelict planet. The trailer for the game recently dropped and it gives us a pretty good idea of what it’s all about:

As you can see, the game looks pretty gorgeous. It’s a game that can be played alone or with a partner (romantic or otherwise) and a huge focus for the game is staying together. The game’s Steam page gave us quite a bit of info about this mysterious game in a recent update post. You’ll play as both of these characters named Yu and Kay as you “follow them through their challenges and everyday life.”

“But it’s also a (J)RPG with an innovative combat system that lets you play the two characters at the same time, and chain actions using tactics and timing.” In the trailer, it looked like you are following the couple as they survive in the wilderness by collecting resources and clearing out enemies around their home. It looks to be a bit of a slower experience with the focus really being on the dynamic relationship of the loving couple.

We haven’t really seen romance being explored in good ways within gaming. Some games manage to nail it while it’s very superficial in some. This game puts the focus on the relationship and bond between two characters with an existing romantic relationship which also affects the way you play which is something I’ve only seen in a handful of games.

No release date was given.

I am way too tall, played way too many games and I love to write about what we love about games. In the end, I'm just being #Thabolicious
