Remedy’s Sam Lake expresses his desire to make Alan Wake 2

Recently Remedy acquired the rights to publish any and all games in the Alan Wake series, which had many speculating that it’s now a given that Alan Wake 2 is probably already in production. You might want to tone that positive energy down just a little.

Sam Lake, the studio boss man, recently chatted to IGN where Alan Wake 2 came up in the discussion. The good news is that he is really keen to make a sequel for the much beloved game, but he’s just not sure if father time has been kind to mechanics that were acceptable close to a decade ago.

I want to make it. At this point, so much time has passed. I feel that the bar is higher in some ways. It needs to be done right if it’s ever done. Everything needs to click into place, which is really hard to make it happen. So many things, for these big games to be greenlit, need to be aligned. But I’m hoping that someday…

While this is real exciting, you should probably place your focus on Control that will launch on PC, PS4 and Xbox One at the end of next month on 27 August. It’s looking real promising if Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy and Second Sight meant anything to you in the past.

Married to a gamer and she kicks my ass at most shooters. If the game is enjoyable I'll play it, no matter the format.
