The end of August is always considered the start of the end-of-year release schedule. From here on in and it’s all downhill towards December, where we will be bombarded with so many new releases that the dry spell of May, June and July will be long forgotten. The game to kick things off this year will be Control, from Remedy Entertainment, and it’s starting to look really good.
What makes Control such an exciting prospect is the inclusion of the supernatural. You’ll be taking control of Jesse Faden in search of her brother who was kidnapped by the Federal Bureau of Control . In the two short videos below you’ll see the Old House, which is the headquarters of the FBC, where the occupants have been overpowered by the Hiss. The building is not what it seems and every setting has been turned on its head, literally.
Though Jesse will have access to traditional weapons, it’s her superpowers such as telekinesis or the ability to control the minds of enemies, turning them into allies, that will set this apart from any other game on the market. If this has not been on your radar, you might want to reconsider.
Control launches on 27 August for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
