Need for Speed shows off Heat, customisation and day/night events

EA has not really been anyone’s favourite studio lately. However, perhaps redemption is in the cards…or not. Either way, their new racer is bringing some heat and taking things back to the streets.

Last night the first gameplay trailer for Need for Speed Heat was revealed at Gamescom Opening Night Live. The trailer shows off what players can do both during the day and at night. During the day players are allowed to race legally and earn cash through sanctioned races, but be careful you can still get caught by the cops for things like speeding. The night is a whole new ball game, however, and in my opinion, where the game will probably rev to life. During the night players will participate in illegal street racing increasing the heat on themselves and forcing cops to become more aggressive. You’ll need to be careful though as you may just lose everything…

That’s not all. Also announced is a mobile app, Need for Speed Heat Studio, that’ll allow players to customise their cars right now and import it into the game on launch. I’ve played around with the app last night and really impressed with the options given. From selecting each piece of a full body kit. To selecting your side mirrors, to different hoods, spoilers, and even your brake discs and callipers. Need for Speed Heat is set to release on the 8th of November.
