Media Molecule’s Dreams has been in beta for a while and the things people have managed to pull off in this game creator stagger belief. It allows regular Joes to become game designers and the creativity on display in some of these creations is off the charts. Case in point, a kaiju game called Ruckus: Just Another Natural Disaster that has just finished development and is available to play in Dreams.
I’ll let the trailer speak for itself:
You play an adorable floppy salamander-looking kaiju monster and all you need to do is wreck everything in front of you. The cute lizard can smash things with his tail, burn things with his laser beam and eat some juicy jets or vehicles.
Like all games coming out of Dreams, these projects are simply labours of love coming from passionate and creative people that use the tools they are given to bring their crazy vision to life. Ruckus was no exception and amateur game developer Mori Shiro worked together with their friends to bring this little title together.
We still don’t have a solid release date for Dreams, but it was said that it will release in 2019. With only a few months left in the year, they might miss the mark, but perhaps we’ll get to experience these lovely creations sometime soon.
