Ikumi Nakamura burst onto the scenes earlier this year at Bethesda’s E3 conference. Keanu Reeves injected much love into the show, but Ikumi ended up beeing the sweetest and most genuine human being that has ever set foot on a stage at E3 when she detailed the upcoming game from Tango Gameworks, Ghostwire: Tokyo. She is now leaving the studio after nine years.
After 9 years as Creative director & Art Director at Tango and Zenimax – I felt here is one of ends of the journeys . I learned from the talented people I've worked with and I respect. 🙏😊 Contact me if anyone wants to work with me! → https://t.co/4VKLdY2ejl pic.twitter.com/Hbsuta3Rgo— Ikumi Nakamura @TGS2019 (@nakamura193) September 4, 2019
A quick look at her LinkedIn profile and you’ll learn that she has quite a few accolades behind her name as she not only worked on games such as The Evil Within. Oh no, she also exposed her talents while at Platinum Games to create Bayonetta and worked on Ōkami as an environment artist at Capcom.
Wherever her next adventure takes her, we’re sure she’ll be a beacon of light in any studio. If you’re worried about Ghostwire: Tokyo – Shinji Mikami (Resident Evil creator) is still in charge, so we think it should be just fine. For now you can watch a video of that very special moment at E3 earlier this year.
