eXcuse me, PlayStation wants you to know the correct names for the face buttons

Gamers can argue about important things, like really important things. And we can argue about what to call a button on a controller. Apparently, that big blue X on the face of the DualShock is not an Ex. It is a Cross.

The names of the four face buttons are all shapes: Square, Circle, Triangle and Cross, not Ex. So if in your brain you hear “Press Ex to Start” your brain is wrong. You are wrong. I am wrong. We are all wrong in this. At lease PlayStation UK has good material prepped for all this.

Some have even come to explain that the literal shape itself means it can only be a cross and not an ex. A Cross makes a nice neat square shape, while an Ex is a rectangle. And you thought that this wasn’t an educational platform:

Now to end this before I make an Ex joke, because that would be mean and make someone cross.

If it has the letters RPG in it, I am there. Still battling with balancing trying to play every single game that grabs my interest, getting 100% in a JRPG, and devoting time to my second home in Azeroth.
