Review bombing is nothing new. Several games have been on the receiving end over the last few years. You only need to look at Star Wars: Battlefront 2 and Shadow of the Tomb Raider to see examples of this. Now it’s time for NBA 2K20 to feel the wrath from the gamers for not listening to them.
If you head to the official page on Steam right now you’ll see that the game is sitting with an ‘overwhelmingly negative’ rating, with over 1,200 (and growing) numbers. Fans of the series have had enough of the constant microtransactions and are now voting the only way they know how to – review bombing the game. The NBA 2K series has been renowned for including microtransactions and according to the fans it’s worse than its ever been.
Here are some examples of comments that can be found on Steam:
‘Garbage copy paste of NBA2K19 with more micro-transactions, trash ♥♥♥ company’
‘Cash grabbing game with gambling .. rated E for everyone. Strauss Zelnick, 2k CEO is also the ESRB Chairman .. 🙂’
‘Microtransaction extravaganza 2020. A casino game with some basketball in it. The future of sport games is scary as ♥♥♥♥.’
There are many more comments that share a similar hatred for the gambling mechanic and it seems that NBA 2K20 is the game that’ll come under fire for not doing anything about it.
