We have entered an era where every publisher and its sidekick is planning to host its own digital shop, filled with their exclusive titles on PC. We saw Ubisoft recently doing so with Uplay+ and now it’s time for the big dog to strut its stuff with its own digital store. Rockstar has launched the Rockstar Games Launcher and by purely subscribing to the service you’ll get GTA San Andreas for free.
If anyone was going to host their own digital store it would make sense that Rockstar would like their own piece of the action. Just about all their games are acclaimed big hitters and it could be the start of some great things for PC players. Their store comes with cloud saves and automatic updates, which means they do at least have the bare basics in place. More so, if you own any of the games physically it’ll scan your system for the games on your PC and then add it to the library automatically.
It doesn’t have a huge number of games on offer, but what is there is at least impressive: Grand Theft Auto V, Bully: Scholarship Edition, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, Grand Theft Auto III, L.A. Noire, and Max Payne 3. Of course GTA San Andreas shows up too and is free.
Go claim it now if you don’t own it. Both of you.
