It feels like some semblance of sanity has returned to us. Nintendo has finally patched Super Mario Maker 2, allowing players to play online with friends. You know, the thing most people would prefer to do over playing with randoms.
The 1.1.0 update adds the ability to matchmake when playing online multiplayer versus and co-op.
There are also new “Nearby Play” and “LAN Play” options and you can play courses from your locally saved list in Coursebot.
Besides these additions, you can now play the game with a horizontally held Joy-Con in all modes.
Hopefully this change, and realising that most people would prefer to play with friends instead of randoms, will make Nintendo pay attention to the current online landscape.
Unless they were onto something. I wonder if this might test a few friendships as you learn just who is the better platformer in your friend circle. Or at least, who keeps letting the team down or trying to sabotage everyone else.
