After numerous leaks, the worst of which happened this past weekend on the Xbox store, EA has finally made the official announcement for the next Sims 4 expansion pack, titled Discover University. It will be available from 15 November on PC and Mac, and from 17 December on Xbox One and PlayStation 4. This matches the date given in the recent leak, as well as the date that appeared in the first leak.
The university themed expansions for Sims 2 and Sims 3 were very popular, and Simmers have been for a similar experience for The Sims 4 for a long time now. (And in case you’re interested, the next popularly demanded pack is farming themed.)
The first official mention of the pack came on Monday evening (SA time) with a gif and the announcement of the trailer coming out on Tuesday. At the same time, several popular content creators in the Sims community posted that they had received their acceptance letters to either the University of Britechester or the Foxbury Institute. This was a fun bit of marketing from the Sims team.
On Tuesday evening, the long-awaited trailer finally arrived, along with all of the information already leaked on the Xbox store. You can read the official blog post here and see the trailer below. If previous packs are anything to go by, there should be at least one more trailer before release.
There will be an official livestream on 8 November where the SimGurus will show off Discover University’s features. And of course, you can catch our review here on SA Gamer when the pack is available.
