Yesterday, Xbox announced their new Xbox All Access bundles for the US market. The bundles come in three ‘flavours’ which all include an Xbox console and 24 months of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. The cheapest option features the Xbox One S All-Digital Edition at $19.99 per month (just under R300). This is followed by the Xbox One S at $22.99 p/m and the Xbox One X bundle at $30.99 p/m. Of course, it might seem a little odd that Microsoft is pushing their older consoles when the new edition is just around the corner. However, the new All Access bundles include special ‘Upgrade Options’.
Buyers of the Xbox One X bundle can upgrade to the new console after 12 months. The S and SAD versions will have a similar option after 18 months. So far, there is no confirmation as to whether this programme will be available here in South Africa, or even what the cost will be. However, offering an option with no big upfront payment and the ability to upgrade to the new console after paying smaller monthly amounts may appeal to many.
