The Sniper Ghost Warrior franchise has always just been out of reach of being a special FPS franchise. It’s not the only franchise that focuses solely on sniping, but they are the only ones to do it in the modern day which brings about some unique challenges for seasoned shooting game fans. The studio’s last output, Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 didn’t fare so well with middling reviews and general perception which made the game largely forgotten.
A pre-launch trailer for the new Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts has been released which shows us the direction the studio is taking with this one. You’ll have 25 contracts to get through within an open-world that you can explore and exploit at your leisure. There also seem to be some new mechanics for the actual long-range sniping such as wind control, bullet drop and all those sniping mainstays. Check out the trailer here:
Colour me optimistic, but the game looks to be a load of fun. They promise more weaponry to take on foes close range and a whole suite of new features that might just make this the sniper game we’ve all hoped for. I don’t have a terrible amount of faith because of CI Games’ previous outputs, but hey, I’m willing to give them a shot. The game releases on the 22nd of November on Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
