It feels like some companies only want us to play a single game forever. Their game. But it is impossible to only play one game all the time right? Unless you are into esports or something that gets big updates all the time, like MMOs, it really takes a lot of effort to play just one game all the time. But developers and publishers are pushing hard for this to happen, as more time spent playing their game also means more likelihood you will spend on stuff too.
I know that I can get super invested in MMOs, but I also enjoy spending time away from them playing other games, trying new things and generally not getting stuck in a single place. Sure it means I don’t have the achievement score or unique pet count of some of my peers, but I also can look at the many varied experiences I would have missed out on if I had just stuck to a single game. At the same time, I also feel protected from the burnout that some suffer because I can do other things for a change of pace.
Do you prefer playing a single game, or spreading your time out among many titles? Even if it isn’t 100% of your time, I am keen to hear about games that form the bulk of your gaming clock.
