Xbox Game Pass just keeps getting better with 50 new titles

I must admit that a lot of last night’s X019 felt like it was aimed at a very different target audience than me. To be honest, I am not sure who it was targeted at, because the announcements were so varied in genre, pace and energy that it felt like a shotgun blast just covering anything and everything, hoping to hit a mark. Then the Game Pass announcements started flowing and wow, how great is this service?

If you don’t have Xbox Game Pass, it has reached a point that the service is absolutely too good to ignore. Square Enix is joining the party with a whole slew of Final Fantasy games as well as Kingdom Hearts. Have you missed a certain game in the franchise or keen to try now? Well, Xbox has you covered, on console and PC. Just look at this list:

Final Fantasy 7
Final Fantasy 8: Remastered
Final Fantasy 9
Final Fantasy 10: HD Remastered
Final Fantasy 10-2: HD Remastered
Final Fantasy 12: The Zodiac Age
Final Fantasy 13
Final Fantasy 13-2
Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy 13
Final Fantasy 15

Or perhaps you have always wanted to dip your toes into the crime family soap opera slash city problem solver Yakuza? Well Yakuza 0, Yakuza Kiwami 1 and Yakuza Kiwami 2 are on the way.

Until then, how about what you can play right now? There is pretty much something for everyone here, and some of these games are standout titles just begging to be played.

Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition (PC)
Age of Wonders: Planetfall (Console, coming soon to PC)
Hearts of Iron 4: Cadet Edition (PC)
Lego: The Ninjago Movie Videogame (Console)
Rage 2 (Console, coming soon to PC)
Remnant: From the Ashes (Console)
The Talos Principle (Console & PC)
Tracks: The Train Set Game (Console & PC)

Xbox Game Pass seems to be hitting the right mix of gaming content right now. If you skipped a game or were waiting for a sale, or perhaps never tried a franchise because it sounded cool but the price put you off the experiment, you can test things out here with minimal effort (data costs excluded, of course). Here is what is expected to launch within the next year, excluding what was mentioned above:

If it has the letters RPG in it, I am there. Still battling with balancing trying to play every single game that grabs my interest, getting 100% in a JRPG, and devoting time to my second home in Azeroth.
