When I went to the Warcraft Summit a few months ago, the team mentioned the anniversary event in World of Warcraft, the cool mounts that would be obtainable in-game by participating and a special collector’s edition to celebrate 15 years of the game, complete with Alabaster mounts and an impressive statue of Ragnaros.
Then last week I got a call that a large parcel was waiting for me. My first idea was to open the package and revel in the glorious smell of packing materials, freshly printed papers and the various finer sniffs and whiffs involved in the making of statues. But I held off so that I could film the process, minus several minutes of smelling still wrapped pieces of statue, for anyone who likes living vicariously through others.
The box included a month of game time, several art prints, a mouse pad that I will never use, a shiny pin of Onyxia and Ragnaros, the Firelord in great-looking gold and black. It also had Alabaster mounts for Horde and Alliance, and just look at this boi. His wings have a telltale golden effect that really pops and the marbling effect and so much of a single colour really stands out. I love him.
So here is my unboxing, edited slightly to remove the long sniffing sections and a rant about Hanzo and Genji mains. I will leave that for another video. Now excuse me, I am busy putting Ragnaros next to other figures and writing new headcanon for everyone. Currently, Ragnaros is getting to know his dad…
