At the moment, it feels like everything is online and requires friends. When the internet dies so many of the games and launchers on my PC stop working that it feels easier to just turn the PC off and go do something else.
These online requirements have slowly burrowed their way into more and more games, where once there were perks for playing online, a dangling carrot on a stick, the system changed over time to be online or you can’t play and well, players don’t like that and several other things.
Ubisoft ran a community survey for Ghost Recon Breakpoint recently and the results are in. A whopping 50+% of players want AI teammates, while some 35+% wanted gear score and tiered loot removed, improvements to enemy AI and seeing all weapons/gear at once. Finally, some 30+% wanted online requirements to be nixed.
On top of this, Ubisoft Paris acknowledges the many requests to improve the technical quality of the game were made and that this is a priority to work on. Several of the entries are marked as in-progress, with a few marked as investigating as the team works out how to add or make changes to certain systems, if at all possible.
