After what feels like an eternity of waiting, Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire will be on PS4 and Xbox One early next year. Come 28 January, console players will be able to travel to the Deadfire archipelago to hunt down a god.
The console version was announced with a Collector’s Edition and while I’m not sure if it will even make it here, it still has a pretty nice statue to look at.
What is worth looking at is the version that players will be getting. Since launch, there have been many patches and additions to the game, including more story bits to smooth over some plot points, a turn-based mode for those who prefer things to play out tactically and more.
I enjoyed the hell out of my romp through Deadfire, hunting a god, finding a crew for my lovely ship and trying to navigate through all the factions that make up the power base of the region.
Hopefully, people pick the game up when it reaches consoles, as the team is still trying to work out why Pillars 2 sold poorly before any work happens on Pillars 3.
