While nobody on the team has any chance of breaking into the pro fighting game circuit, we all enjoy a good scrap. 2019 had a mix of new fighting titles, older ones getting some tweaks and changes to keep them brawling through the year. But in the end, we can only crown a single winner.
Mortal Kombat 11
Can you believe a fighting game went and made having a story mode into something of a gold standard? Building on MKX and the Injustice series, MK11 pulled out all the stops when it came to telling the story, this time with old colliding with new and explanations for how the convoluted MK history all makes sense. It also introduces several new characters and fighters, and we love to hate Kronika and her meddling. Now if they could just let me pick what abilities I want to use rather than pre-sets for VS, that would be great.
