Live service games have been a bit of a hit and miss, with many of them stumbling out of the blocks, not making it much further than that. But, every now and then, one of these online experience games manage to steer the ship straight.
Sea of Thieves is one such game, and although it was technically sound, it was criticised for being a bit bare-boned at launch. Developer Rare did however give the game a ton of support and the hard work seems to have paid off, with the game passing 10 million players. This wonderful news came via the Xbox Blog, where Rare thanked the players for the support:
on behalf of everyone at Rare I’d like to say thank you to everyone who’s been on this journey with us so far. The best news is that we’re just getting started and have big plans for the coming year.
