Capcom is on a roll with their recent trend of making remakes for their most acclaimed games. While I initially thought it was just some nostalgia bait for old fans, Capcom really knocked it out of the park by reimagining these titles from the ground up and creating new experiences out of old stories. Naturally, fans were extremely stoked to hear that Resident Evil 3 will get the same remake treatment only a year after Resident Evil 2.
The development time seems impossibly short, but Resident Evil 3 Remake producers Peter Fabiano and Masai Kawada said in a recent interview with Famitsu that the game is “about 90% completed” and that “there will be no delay.” The game is slated for release on the 3rd of April which is not a far off date whatsoever which makes this quite the bold statement.
We’ll see soon if their confidence has any merit, but I’m not surprised they can pull it off due to the native engine they’ve created for these remakes. If they just keep up the quality they established in Resident Evil 2, this should be smooth sailing.
