Animal Crossing: New Horizons will only allow one island per Switch

If you happen to live in a house where one Switch gets used by multiple people, you might have to get used to the idea of sharing an island in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

Over on Nintendo’s Australian website, a post details how there will be one island per Switch console. Previously there were rumblings of this, with an IGN interview at E3 suggesting that islands would be limited. Now it is in black and white, with no wiggle room.

Please note: only one island can exist per Nintendo Switch console, irrespective of the number of user accounts registered to or copies of the game used on one console. One Nintendo Switch and one copy of the game is required for each unique island.

So if you happen to share a Switch, you will have to get along nicely on the same island. You also won’t be able to have another island running in case you want to try something different, without losing what you already have.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons launches on Nintendo Switch on March 20, and we will all be at the mercy of Tom Nook.

If it has the letters RPG in it, I am there. Still battling with balancing trying to play every single game that grabs my interest, getting 100% in a JRPG, and devoting time to my second home in Azeroth.
