2017’s Nioh was a big game. It has a ton of content, a lengthy story and a helluva lot of meat to sink your teeth into. Depending on your skill level, the whole adventure can take you anywhere from 50 to 100 hours to complete, and according to game director, Fumihiko Yasuda, the upcoming sequel should take about the same time.
He confirmed this in an interview with Gamespot saying it took him about 55 hours to complete Nioh 2 earlier this year:
So the number of the main missions is about the same. It’s lengthwise about the same as Nioh 1, but when we looked at how long it took for the players to complete Nioh 1, it depended on the player, how good they were, how they played it, etc. So it’s hard to say, but when I played the game this past January, it took me 55 hours.
Personally, I found Nioh very challenging, and even though it took me well over 100 hours to complete, I enjoyed it immensely and I’m really looking forward to the next one. Nioh 2 is set for a March 13 release on PlayStation 4.
