Take-Two earnings call says BioShock is years away

Fans of the series will be happy to know that a new BioShock game is in the works, but it is also pretty far off.

Last year we posted about how Take-Two’s earnings call mentioned a big game that could be BioShock in development, and after waiting at the rumour mill for so long, the company mentioned what was happening.

Take-Two discussed establishing Cloud Chamber, a new studio that is split between San Francisco and Montreal. “Cloud Chamber has started to work on the next iteration of the globally acclaimed BioShock franchise, which will be in development for the next several years.”

A Kotaku report said that the next BioShock had been in development for quite a while already, but was reset because it wasn’t progressing as wanted. This will also be a BioShock game without Irrational Games or Ken Levine.

There has been no mention of the setting for the next game, and it might be a long time until we see what it will look like too.

If it has the letters RPG in it, I am there. Still battling with balancing trying to play every single game that grabs my interest, getting 100% in a JRPG, and devoting time to my second home in Azeroth.
