Stardew Valley… It’s one of the darlings of the SA Gamer office. And of course, it’s not only here. Around the world and on almost every platform Stardew Valley exists and is almost universally beloved. However, what if you’re one of the few out there that love the style, the feel and the look of the game but just don’t consider yourself much of a farmer? Well, it seems Eric Barone (creator of the game) may have just revealed some good news for you.
As first spotted on GamesRadar, Barone recently replied to one of his follower’s questions on Twitter and casually happened to mention the following:
I’m actually working on a couple of new projects. One takes place in the world of Stardew Valley, but is not a farming game. The other, I’m not 100% sure about the world yet, but it will tie into Stardew Valley in some way.ConcernedApe Tweet
So as crazy as it seems, we may soon have an “SVU” – a Stardew Valley Universe of games. As you can imagine, the comment has subsequently blown up online. And after realising how fast his comments were spreading Barone did quickly add a comment to temper expectations:
…all I ask is please don’t get too hyped at this stage. I want to avoid too much hype or speculation. I’d like to just make whatever game comes naturally to me without too much pressure or expectation. I’m not setting out to make the next indie smash hit, I just want to make another game that I enjoy and am happy with. And to share some of my art & ideas with the world. If it becomes popular, I will be happy, but it’s not my focus.
We’re obviously looking forward to whatever Barone has in the works. But, for now, we’re going to do our best to give him the space and time he needs to develop his new games.
Even Kevin Feige needed a few years, right?
