The very long-awaited Final Fantasy 7 Remake is coming out on the 10th of April and the excitement is palpable for this legendary game to receive its new coat of paint. However, that paint job is going to come at a steep cost to everyone’s hard drive space as the first part of the game has been confirmed to come on two blu-ray disks.
In a now-deleted Reddit post, a user shared pictures of the game’s physical edition and on the back, you could see this:
If you squint, you can see the 100GB file size on the back cover and honestly, that was probably in the ballpark of what we expected. Red Dead Redemption 2 filled up many hard drives with its massive 100GB file size and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is responsible for 15% of my 1 TB HDD in my PS4 which is mindblowing.
Considering the scope of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake, it’s no surprise that the game will be as large as it is, but remember that it’s only part one. So, if you’ve been excited to play the game, make sure to do some hard drive spring cleaning before April rolls around.
