FGV winner’s Dreams are coming true – and our weekly wrap up!

Hello you magnificent humans. It’s been a while since we last had the chance to talk and boy has the world gotten spicy in that time. Everyone’s buying up all the toilet paper and basically every event has been cancelled, including E3 which will make things very interesting this year from a gaming perspective. I’ve also managed to break my leg on Monday and that has also been an entire ordeal, but thankfully I didn’t decide to do construction work for a career and can still use my keyboard. But, enough of the bad news, let’s cheer ourselves up with some winners and wrap-ups, shall we?

Weekly wrap up!

I’ve been down and out this week because of the whole broken bone debacle, but our team stepped up and delivered some juicy content. We got some lovely reviews this week with Charlie hitting his head against a wall and loving it in Nioh 2, Garth had a beautiful journey in Ori and the Will of the Wisps and Tim headed into the dreamworld in Dreams.

We also had a little chat with our old friend Gantz in Tim’s wonderful Meet an SA Gamer segment which you should definitely check out and maybe even participate in.

Comment of the week!

Our comment of the week comes from Daniel Hallinan on the post about CD Projekt Red making a new Witcher game:

My hope is that they will do something different within the Witcher universe since Geralt’s story was ended pretty conclusively with the last game. I’m sure whatever they will do is going to be amazing though.

The winner!

We have a hotly contested prize this week with many of you wanting to enter the land of Dreams and experience all the wonderful weirdness that people have created. But we all know the drill, there can only be one winner and that is none other than:

Chris de Barros

Congratulations to Chris for winning this week’s prize! We’ll be in contact with you soon to get your prize to you. Just remember to wake up once in a while, the world is still out there.

Thanks to Gamefinity for sponsoring this week’s prize!

What’s happening this weekend?

If you’re ever wondering what the SA Gamer crew does on weekends, wonder no more! Here’s a little breakdown of how we’ll be spending our weekends:

Garth: I have some roleplaying tonight, which is going to be awkward with everyone trying to keep a safe distance out of paranoia of mystery infection. Then I am gonna braai on Saturday, just for myself basically, because I need some meat that has been caressed by flame in my life. [Hopefully there aren’t any plagues in your session, it will be a little too soon.]

Charlie: Take me off to the ball game! Yes, I’m reviewing the latest MLB The Show and will give some feedback on that for you America’s favourite past time next week. Other than that, I’m continuing on in the Nioh 2 end game, planning some braaivleis and since it’s that season again, of course rugby. [I thought America’s favourite past time is shoving a Big Mac down a football helmet and then invading your neighbour for their oil.]

Marko: I am stuck in place for at least the next few months, so it’s a good excuse to play games. I have to still download Ori and the Will of the Wisps, but I’m hoping that I’ll have a chance to play it this weekend. I need some beauty in my life.

The world is a little frightening out there, but what better way to quarantine yourself than locking yourself in and playing some video games? We can make lemonade out of corona. Be sure to wash your hands, don’t go prancing in large crowds and keep an eye on the news, folks. We’d hate for anything to happen to one of you beautiful specimens.

I am way too tall, played way too many games and I love to write about what we love about games. In the end, I'm just being #Thabolicious
