Mortal Kombat: Komplete Edition disappears from Steam

Mortal Kombat (the previous one, not the latest iteration) is missing its Komplete Edition on Steam right now.

Warner Bros. has not given a reason for why this edition was pulled from the store page, which merely says it was removed “at the request of the publisher.”

Current speculation is that it is due to Freddy Krueger being a guest character and the current rights battle over the intellectual property. In September 2019, Wes Craven’s estate regained the US rights to Freddy Krueger and A Nightmare on Elm Street. Warner Bros and subsidiary New Line Cinema produced the movie.

Hopefully there is an update as to why this has happened, and what the solution is.

In the meantime, Mortal Kombat 11 players can check out Spawn and Joker, the latest additions to a roster full of bone-crunching, organ-removing killers. Imagine Joker going truly dark and gorey, while keeping that playful side. Now make the violence… worse.

If it has the letters RPG in it, I am there. Still battling with balancing trying to play every single game that grabs my interest, getting 100% in a JRPG, and devoting time to my second home in Azeroth.
