Call of Duty: Modern Warfare possibly has one of the most beloved campaigns of the series. It pushed some boundaries, especially with its No Russian mission and people were ecstatic to progress the story of Soap and Captain Price. Fans have been clamouring for a remaster for years with it even going so far as to have petitions signed by thousands. Now, if some rating board rumours are to be believed, those people’s dreams might become a reality.
The Korean rating board has a history of leaking possible future releases and thanks to some eagle-eyed redditors, a rating for Modern Warfare 2‘s campaign has been spotted:
Since the original Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare received a remaster with the launch of Infinite Warfare, it’s not totally out of the bounds of possibility that they’ll remaster the sequel as well. My hunch is that they’ll include the remaster with this year’s Call of Duty title, but it’s also possible that this will be a standalone release.
Since online modes don’t require ratings, it’s still unclear whether or not the remaster might also have an online mode, but it’s still possible since the Call of Duty 4 remaster had multiplayer as well. These are just rating board rumours for now, but it’s enough to get excited about if you’re a fan of some of the classic Call of Duty campaigns.
