EA’s next 11 months are still on track, with 14 game releases still planned

EA announced earlier this year that during the 2021 fiscal year, some 14 games would be released. That number was confirmed in an investor’s call yesterday, with EA saying that the Covid-19 pandemic wouldn’t change the publisher’s plans for the year ahead.

Four of those 14 games will be sports titles: FIFA, Madden, NHL and an unannounced title. The next four will “draw on the breadth of [EA’s] IP,” said CEO Andrew Wilson, so that includes Command & Conquer Remastered.

The next two are mobile titles, and some games (probably the last four) will be indie titles from partnered developers.

EA apparently has “new IP” in developments and “a number of new incubation products that are starting to come together”.

You might notice that Battlefield isn’t in that list, which will release somewhere after April 2021.

“In a world where there was no sports, we became sports for people.”

Meanwhile I am trying to work out how EA is in 2021 already. I also want to leave 2020.

If it has the letters RPG in it, I am there. Still battling with balancing trying to play every single game that grabs my interest, getting 100% in a JRPG, and devoting time to my second home in Azeroth.
