Fallout 76, the online multiplayer Fallout game that has had a rather tough time at life, is free to play this weekend on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
The game had a rather terrible launch and the SA Gamer review said: “It certainly looks and sounds like Fallout, with country music and its familiar trappings. As you play more though, the cracks start to show and you realise that you are playing a very hollow shell, a husk parading as a Fallout game.”
Since then, the game has had a lot of work put in. A PvP-heavy survival mode, a battle-royal style thing, brewing, distilling, dungeons, quests and the latest update added NPCs, something that felt sorely lacking from the base game.
If you are keen on giving it a go, but didn’t want to risk your hard-earned bottlecaps, or perhaps you wanted to go back and see if the Wastelanders update made the game something a lot more palatable to you, then the free weekend starts tomorrow evening and runs until Monday. During the weekend there will be double XP, so get them levels.
