On Friday last week, Sony announced that the long wait for more information on the PlayStation 5 is nearing an end, with a reveal of the next-generation console being streamed live on Twitch and YouTube this Thursday (4 June) at 10 pm CAT.
Besides some technical specs given by console architect, Mark Cerny, and the slick new Dual Sense controller being shown to us, we honestly don’t know too much about the PlayStation 5 and what games we can expect to play on it. According to Sony Interactive Entertainment CEO, Jim Ryan, this is exactly what they intend to show us this week:
We’ve shared technical specifications and shown you the new DualSense wireless controller. But what is a launch without games? That’s why I’m excited to share that we will soon give you a first look at the games you’ll be playing after PlayStation 5 launches this holiday. The games coming to PS5 represent the best in the industry from innovative studios that span the globe. Studios, both larger and smaller, those newer and those more established, all have been hard at work developing games that will showcase the potential of the hardware.
There’s a lot of speculation on what to expect for this reveal, including the games to expect and what the actual PlayStation console is going to look like. There are some that are speculating on the expected price of the console, but I won’t hold my breath on that news just yet. But you never know.
Are you excited to learn more about the PlayStation 5? If so, let us know what you expect.
