Minecraft’s big nether update rolls out next week

Better get those pickaxes enchanted and have a few spares ready because we have some serious exploration to do in the nether next week. Minecraft’s next big patch rolls out on June 23 for the Windows 10, Java, PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game.

The nether seems pretty cool, but you quickly run out of things to do there, unless you want to build a massive castle out of materials from there. New biomes are being added like Soulsand Valley and Netherwart Forest. There are also Piglins and Hoglins to deal with, as well as new blocks and new material to mine. There is also new music to accompany exploring the nether, composed by Lena Raine (Celeste).

I can’t wait to mine Netherite scraps and upgrade all my Diamond gear. I just hope that none of my friends go diving into lava after decking themselves out in my handiwork. It also means I need to do some work on my pyramid before next week, because once the mining call goes out, I am heading deep underground.

Info on the update can be found here.

If it has the letters RPG in it, I am there. Still battling with balancing trying to play every single game that grabs my interest, getting 100% in a JRPG, and devoting time to my second home in Azeroth.
