A lot of people forget that Fortnite was originally not the battleroyale super hit that we know today but rather a Premium Survival game with a story of sorts. Well, that mode, called Fortnite: Save the World is not finally out of Early Access after about three years.
According to Epic, they will be slowing down development for content for the survival mode, with any newly earned or purchased cosmetics from the more popular Battle Royale mode not being supported in it any more. This doesn’t mean the content for the game will be done and dusted though, with Epic still planning to support the mode. It will also remain a Premium experience and not be going Free-to-Play as previously reported.
Save the World will also be receiving a new Ventures mode which will have Seasonal structures attached to it with long-term replayability being the key motivation. It is essentially a set of unique challenges with modifiers that take place across a season.
