Battle royale as a genre has become incredibly popular over the last couple of years, and there is no doubt that a publisher like Ubisoft would want a slice of that pie. Their answer is Hyper Scape, which was officially revealed last night after some leaks earlier in the week:
Hyper Scape is an urban futuristic free-to-play Battle Royale where 100 Contenders engage in FPS close-quarters and fast-paced matches to become the next global superstar.
Hyper Scape looks like a fast-paced game with a fair amount of verticality to it. It also moves away from the usual, open and sometimes barren worlds we’ve come to associate BR games with. It is made by the same studio that’s responsible for Rainbow Six Siege, so we can expect it to be good and we know that Ubisoft traditionally supports their games pretty well post-launch.
There’s no official release date yet, but there is a Technical Test running right now for PC players. Unfortunately, South African players cannot join in on it.
