Destiny 2: Beyond Light was originally slated for release on 22 September this year, but Bungie announced via its blog last night that it will be delayed until 10 November. The reasons given are pretty obvious, as the studio sites challenges around working during the current pandemic being the main reason for the delay:
The past few months have been a challenge and will continue to be during this pandemic. We’ve learned to create together in a new way, by having to work apart from one another. Despite these hurdles, we’re still committed to the same level of quality that our fans expect.
Beyond Light will take players to previously unknown locations, expanding the game’s universe and will bring with it a new elemental power called Stasis. This is the first new elemental update since the Taken King expansion from the first time.
Delays are never fun, but considering the current circumstances that many around the world find themselves in, it is understandable. Hopefully Bungie can still deliver the high-quality product that we’ve come to expect from them come 10 November.
