With Marvel’s Avengers set for a 4 September release, which is just around the corner, we’re starting to see Square Enix ramping up in marketing and awareness for the game. A beta is running for the most of next month in various shapes and forms, and we’re starting to find out what sort of support we can expect for the game.
Part of that post-launch support is the release of Marvel heroes set to join the team, the first of which is none other than Clint Barton himself, a.k.a. Hawkeye. The bow-wielding, arrow-slinging bad-ass will bring with him some extra story content as well as a new villain, and will be free DLC, which is pretty great news. Exactly when Hawkeye will join The Avengers is not entirely clear though.

It is good to see some free DLC coming our way after the game is launched and it will be interesting to see if this is a trend or not. Marvel’s Avengers releases on 4 September, but you can try it out for yourself before then when the beta goes live on PS4 on 14 August, and Xbox and PC on 21 August. Pre-orders get access to the beta a week early on the chosen platform.
