Baldur’s Gate 3 won’t hit Early Access in August

Back in June Larian CEO Swen Vincke said that the studio was aiming for an August Early Access launch, but it looks like we will have to wait a little longer.

Vincke was optimistic about the target, saying that the team was working hard but that the pandemic could slow things down. “We’ve been hit like everybody else in the world. Nonetheless, we managed to make a lot of progress, so we think we’re going to make it.”

Now that the month in question has arrived, Larian Studios has announced that the Early Access target won’t be reached, but says that Early Access is just around the corner.

The Panel From Hell will happen on August 18, which will have a launch date reveal, along with special guests. The panel will be viewable on Larian’s Twitch channel, as well as the Summer Games Fest YouTube channel.

If you have been excitedly waiting to hop into a storm of Illithids, you can watch a countdown ticking away at the baldursgate3.game website. It might help you remember what day and what week it is.

If it has the letters RPG in it, I am there. Still battling with balancing trying to play every single game that grabs my interest, getting 100% in a JRPG, and devoting time to my second home in Azeroth.
