Last night’s State of Play was pretty interesting with some cool announcements, but one of the most interesting was the reveal that Hitman 3, the conclusion to the current trilogy, will be entirely playable in VR.
Not only that, but Hitman 3 will allow you to import any of the previous two game’s locations, meaning you can experience all of 20+ locations in the World of Assassination in Virtual Reality.
Whether you’re in disguise and walking down the catwalk at a fashion show in Paris, enjoying the seaside in Sapienza or infiltrating a bank in New York, Hitman in VR literally gives you a brand new perspective in first-person. You’ll stand face-to-face with your targets and look them in the eyes, blend-in to a busy crowd and hear the chatter and conversations happening around you and interact with items using your hands. For example, you can swing a frying pan in whatever angle you want to knock out a guard – and then use it to deflect any bullets that are fired at you as you make your escape!
This is quite a massive leap, as the Hitman series has traditionally been from a 3rd person perspective, now giving you a lot more immersion as you socially stealth your way through a map toward your target from a first-person perspective.
