Earlier this week, we got a small teaser for an upcoming game set in The Lord of the Rings universe simply titled The Lord of the Rings: Gollum and will release on next-generation consoles and PC in 2021.
As the title suggests, it will follow the exploits of the creature called Gollum, who found the One Ring after Middle-earth big bad Sauron lost it. The game is being developed by Deadalic Entertainment and won’t feature any real combat, but will have some stealth platforming and a branching narrative. This is according to lead game designer, Martin Wilkes, who told IGN: “The game mixes stealth with vertical climbing parkour. If you want a reference you might think of it as similar to Prince of Persia. It is mostly a non-combat game, but Gollum will be able to stealthily take out enemies.”
The story will be set between the events of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings, as Gollum sets out to find his ring that was stolen from him by that filthy hobbit Bilbo Baggins.
