LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga gets a new trailer and a later release date

We finally got a proper look at the upcoming (beware mouthful incoming!) LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. In case you missed it before, as explained a few months ago in May (check out the original article here) all nine films will be playable. Awesomely though, you will be able to start gameplay at any point in the timeline. There will also be over 500 characters in the game (‘many’ of which will be playable) and so we won’t just be getting a rehash of the old games.

In the just over two minute trailer shown off yesterday during the GamesCom Opening Night Live show – not only did everything look fantastic, but we were shown several familiar scenes across all the Skywalker generations all with a little hilarious LEGO-humour twist. The soundalike voices sound a little hit-or-miss (Yoda and Palpatine sounded particularly good). I couldn’t be more excited about this game and although we also got the news that the game would be available on the next-gen of consoles, it was also confirmed the release date has been delayed into ‘Spring’ (Northern Hemisphere) 2021.
