Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart will let players choose what is more important to them: raw resolution or frame rate.
During an interview with Famitsu (via Siliconera), Insomniac confirmed that there will be options to pick the framerate of the game. A 4K resolution with 30fps will be available, as well as a 60fps mode, but at a lower (and unspecified) resolution.
In the interview, it was said that we have been seeing the 4K 30fps version.
There is still no set release date for the game, but it is somewhere “within the PlayStation launch window”… you know, whenever that is.
It will be interesting to see what the options are, when they get revealed. I’m immediately drawn to the 60fps mode, who wouldn’t want things to be as smooth as possible? Though maybe if it hits a stable 30fps, it will look good enough and show off that 4K TV?
