Amnesia: Rebirth promises ‘an emotionally harrowing journey’

Frictional Games, the devs behind Amnesia: The Dark Descent and SOMA, are back to frighten us all with Amnesia: Rebirth on 20 October.

With two horror games in their portfolio, Frictional Games has something pretty specific in mind to have everyone’s heart beating a little faster. Creative director Thomas Grip says that this game isn’t “just another haunted house spook-fest”, with Rebirth aiming to give players an “emotionally harrowing journey”, with more focus on narrative this time around.

Amnesia: Rebirth follows a new protagonist, Tasi Trianon. Tasi is travelling through the Algerian desert, looking to piece together her past. In the desert, beneath the scorching sands lie dark caves, “forgotten ruins and alien landscapes”.

Get ready to manage limited resources as you try to stop your physical and mental health from slipping. Being stuck in a mansion was bad enough, I don’t know if I can handle what lurks beneath the desert sands, worrying about how many matches I have left.

Amnesia: Rebirth will be available on PC and PS4.

If it has the letters RPG in it, I am there. Still battling with balancing trying to play every single game that grabs my interest, getting 100% in a JRPG, and devoting time to my second home in Azeroth.
