Earlier today, at what was the small hours of the morning in the US, Nintendo announced that a new Nintendo Direct Mini is on the way. Happening tomorrow at 4 pm, this partner showcase will give third-party developers a chance to showcase their games.
There is a lot of speculation happening now, especially with a bit of a heads-up before the Direct, as well as the timing. The Mario Direct just appeared on the day, with magical results, but in general, things have been hit and miss for Nintendo’s Direct minis.
Timing wise, the announcement went live when most of Japan would have been awake to see it. Does this mean something that would be big in Japan is about to be revealed? Also, could we see what is coming for the rest of the year? The calendar looks a bit lean.
Considering how 2020 has gone, I am going to err on the side of low expectations for this next Direct mini. Then hopefully I will be impressed by something.
