Capcom announced that Vergil is finally coming to Devil May Cry 5 as a playable character.
During the Tokyo Games Show on the weekend, Capcom announced the Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition for PlayStation 5. The new edition has ray tracing, enhanced 3D audio, a turbo mode and a Legendary Dark Knight Mode. But really, the showstopper was the addition of Vergil as a playable character.
The special edition won’t be available on current generation consoles due to the technical limitation of the consoles, but at least being playable as Vergil won’t be locked to the special edition, with producer Matt Walker and director Hideaki Itsuno announcing that the base game on PS4 and Xbox One will be able to play as Vergil in a premium DLC.
There is no release date for the DLC yet, but the Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition launches on Xbox Series X on November 10 and PS5 on November 12.
