While Call of Duty games have always been about shooting another player and the thrill of winning against other humans, there is a very strong tradition of going in alone or with a group of friends and taking on hordes of zombies while trying to escape.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is no exception to this and Treyarch is bringing a whole new chapter to the zombie universe.
Called Die Maschine, players head to the 1980s to battle the undead. The first map is a homage to the very first map in the Zombies mode, Nacht der Untoten. Get ready to head into a derelict World War 2 bunker to unearth secrets. Just get ready for those secrets to try bite you.
Treyarch says there are new characters, new ways to play, a new progression system, cross-play and more. Familiar features like the Pack-a-Punch machine, power-up drops, mystery box and some of the classic Perks make a return.
Treyarch is also adding a rarity system for weapons, which will allow all weapons to be sustainable in the later rounds. There are also slots for lethal, tactical and support equipment so that you can have a nice balance of gadgets.
There is also and Exfil feature, which lets players request a chopper for extraction. Zombie spawns ramp up for the rounds that follow, but there are rewards if you successfully extract.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War launches on November 13.
