FOV sliders are pretty standard on PC, where players like to tinker and customise things until they are just right for their experience. After alpha feedback, the FOV slider is being added to all platforms, and will be in the beta and the main game.
Treyarch announced this on Twitter, showing a slider that goes from 60 degrees to 120 degrees.
Higher FOVs can impact on performance, which is something that players will have to be aware of when making adjustments. This is also part of why FOV sliders are not often available on consoles. Lower FOVs tend to ensure smooth framerates, but can lead to you being unaware of enemies that are now outside your vision cone. A dangerous thing if cross-play is an option.
It will be interesting to see how much the FOV changes performance as players start hopping into the beta.
