PlayStation Plus is tempting us to get a PS5 with Bugsnax

I’m talking about Bugsnax! The game about eating cute critters that look like various foods, that turn a part of you into that food after you consume them, is one of three titles in November’s PS Plus line-up. The catch? Only the PS5 version is available, despite the game launching on PS4 too.

It definitely feels sneaky, offering you a PS5 game. Your brain will be like “Well, I own a PS5 game now, so I should really buy that PS5 now,” or something like that, I am not a behavioural expert or psychologist. Though it does seem to be messy. Even if you buy the PS4 version now to tide you over, save transfers won’t work at first but will be supported eventually, and the game has a separate trophy list for each platform.

The plus side is that Bugsnax can be redeemed until 1 April 2021, so you have some leeway instead of missing it because you didn’t get a console immediately at launch.

The other PS Plus games are Middle-earth: Shadow of War and Hollow Knight: Voidheart Edition, which are two pretty solid games that deserve some of your time.

On top of this the PlayStation Plus Collection for PS5 lineup is here and it looks pretty stellar. If you missed a great title this gen or are starting fresh, it is a pretty solid assortment of games to play.

If it has the letters RPG in it, I am there. Still battling with balancing trying to play every single game that grabs my interest, getting 100% in a JRPG, and devoting time to my second home in Azeroth.
