Awesome Games Done Quick 2021 will have more than 170 speedruns

It has reached the point of the year that we start looking at events that happen in 2021, and Games Done Quick has announced the 2021 Awesome Games Done Quick event, which will be the second Games Done Quick to have an entirely online format.

AGDQ 2021 runs from January 3 to January 10, with all proceeds going to the Prevent Cancer Foundation. This event will have more than 170 speedruns over the seven days, from big AAA titles to loveable indies, the latest and greatest games, and some monstrosities from the past that hurt the eyes.

Here is the timeline for the week of fun. Supergiant Games’ darling Hades has entered the ring alongside BPM: Bullets Per Minute, and titles like Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice and Divinity: Original Sin 2 will show you a few things about the game you might not know. Toss in Celeste, several Super Marios games and Final Fantasy VII, and we have a party.

Speedrunners will be participating from home, but there will be a studio portion to keep things flowing between runs. While a big part of watching these runs is the crowd responses, AGDQ has always been a nice thing to keep running on the second monitor when work starts in the new year.

2020’s AGDQ raised a staggering $3.1 million for the Prevent Cancer Foundation.

If it has the letters RPG in it, I am there. Still battling with balancing trying to play every single game that grabs my interest, getting 100% in a JRPG, and devoting time to my second home in Azeroth.
