If you were unhappy with Star Wars Squadrons not receiving any post-launch support, things took a turn for the better yesterday. The game will be receiving new ships (one for each faction) and a new map.
Update 3.0 is planned to hit on November 25 and it will have a new map, with Fostar Haven getting the multiplayer treatment. The map will be used to Dogfight and Fleet Battles.
Fighters and Bombers will be able to equip the new Boost Extension Kit, a component that give you full boost when used. Interceptors and Bombers will be able to help against capital ships with Ion Rockets or Prototype Piercing Torpedoes. U-wings and TIE reapers will be able to equip Anti-Material Rocket Turrets to protect allies.
The update also includes a whole bunch of fixes and balance changes.
Then in December, update 4.0 will add the B-wing starfighter and TIE/d “Defender” multi-role starfighter.
The B-wing is a Bomber-class, while the TIE defender is a Fighter. Finally anyone dreaming of other starfighters in the game or the lovely B-wing joining the fray will be able to fly it around.
Update 4.0 will also add a server browser meaning you can play private matches with friends There are also custom matches and players can change restrictions and modifiers.
